QUEEN Charlotte has moved.
She has left her hometown of Chiredzi and moved up north to focus on her music and push it from a better position, hence her recent relocation to Harare.
Born Charlotte Isabel Moyo the musician, who is also a hotel and tourism management graduate, said the move to a big city brought her closer to a wider audience.
“I want to be close by for connections and get to know people. I want to make sure I’m available at the right places to meet those people. The focus is for my name to make waves so people can be interested in my brand,” Queen Charlotte told NewsDay Life & Style.
“At the moment, I am trying to get a job in hospitality as I have a diploma in hospitality and tourism management, so that in can fund my music while I’m trying to find my footing in the music industry.”
She said she was itching to get more paying gigs or sponsors so that she could wriggle her way out of self-sponsoring.
“All I want is for them to give me an opportunity to showcase myself because I know for sure I’m good with the crowd at live performances,” Queen Charlotte said.
“I just hope I am able to inspire the girl child out there to work with their hands and talents and not be pressurised into an easy soft life because that will not last and it does not give them peace of mind. Nothing is impossible if you set your mind to it and believe in yourself.
Queen Charlotte has a new single Izitha Zam set to come out soon.
She will be performing at the Miss Hotplate on September 28.
