SUNGURA musician Romeo Gasa says his break from the local music scene was meant to refresh and recharge batteries ahead of his coming project.
Gasa returned home last Monday after spending eight months in the United Kingdom.
He said nothing was amiss with going on vacation since it was expected of one to pause and refresh.
The pint-sized musician refuted reports that he had ditched his band Extra Valembe.
“I am back in the country, recharged and raring to go,” Gasa said.
“I am getting in the studio with the same band to record a six-track album titled Zero Pressure.
“On Friday [tomorrow], we are starting live shows with my band, which has remained intact.”
Gasa was reported to have ditched his band to follow his wife to the UK, but he insists it was just like any other visit.

The Foni Yababa Imhiripiri hitmaker said he had lined up a number of shows across Harare and surrounding areas to meet his legion of fans.
He said he would use the opportunity to sample some of the songs on the album.
The album is being produced by Jabulani Ndlovu and Victor Paul.
Gasa said he would do videos for all the six songs.
“The new album is purely sungura,” he said.
Songs on the forthcoming album include Vana Vangu, Church Yezvidhakwa, Regai Kuchema, Zvidzidzo, Ndiwe Usina Kurongeka and Kufadza Munhu Kwakaoma.
Gasa formed Extra Valembe in 2006 alongside his brothers Talent, Obey, Ronald and Admire.
The group marked its entrance to the mainstream music scene after winning the 2007 editions of the Music Crossroads Zimbabwe and Chibuku Road to Fame before releasing its debut album titled Sungura Kompressor in 2008.
His discography includes Sungura Kompressor, Simbi Hombe, Pin Code (2014), Mupedza Nyaya (2015), Bho Zvekuti, Code 263 (2018), Tamba Irikurira (2019) and Foni Yababa Imhiripiri (2022).
