Queen Modjadji’s first episode availed on DStv Access

AFTER the epic premiere of Queen Modjadji on channel 161, Mzansi Magic on Sunday availed the first episode only, to its DStv Access (Mzansi Wethu channel 163) customers.

Produced for MultiChoice by Rhythm World Productions, Queen Modjadji, has captivated audiences with its rich storytelling.

The series draws inspiration from the story of Balobedu rainmaker Queen Modjadji, whose bloodline has reigned over southern Africa’s Lobedu clan for centuries.

Destined for the throne and endowed with a powerful ancestral gift, Queen Modjadji’s rule ushered in a lineage of hereditary queens.

Her journey tells the story of a matriarchal dynasty, revered for its apparent ability to control the clouds and summon the rain, securing the Balobedu royalty a venerated place among African dynasties.

MultiChoice Zimbabwe’s corporate affairs and public relations head Charity Njanji said the series had since its premiere sparked interest attributed to its language and culture.

She said many viewers  discussed the mystical tale and historical background of the Balobedu tribe.

The cast of Queen Modjadji includes Thabo Bopape as Mambo Mugodo, Masutang Hope Rasekele as Dzungundini, Makoma Mohale as Maselekwane (Queen Modjadji), Mudi Mudau as Khadikhulu. It also features Moses Rasekele as Mphabantshi, Helen Lebepe as Raisibe, Sipho Ndlovu as General Phaahla, Wiseman Zitha as Mamaila.

Aubrey Mmakola features as Kgoshi Mampuru, Ngelekanyo Ramulondi as young Queen Modjadji, Priscilla Raboroko as young Raisibe, Putla Sehlapelo as Ramulodi and Candy “TsaMaNdebele” Mokwena as Muyahabo.
