Speaking to NewsDay Life & Style yesterday, Nyadenga, who is also an English Language teacher at the school, said it was great studio experience working with Kawara.

“The Wise Owl High School Marondera Choir compromises students from various backgrounds, cultures and musical influences. The key factor that motivates the choir is the ability to embrace diversity.

“In our latest production we infused a language from Guinea that tells people to come together and achieve greatness,” he said.

Recently the choir performed at the National Institute of Allied Arts (NIAA) where they did a rendition of the popular song Tsamwa by Comic Pastor much to the delight of the guests.

The choir burst onto the music scene in 2021 with their ground-breaking collaboration titled Fambai Neni with popular gospel singer Sabastian Magacha.

The song blends traditional and contemporary elements and its initial success served as a catalyst for the choir’s meteoric rise, propelling them to greater heights.

They went on to win the NIAA cup challenge for African Contemporary Choirs. The choir is now rated among the best high school choirs in a list that includes Musengezi and Sandringham High schools, among others.

Apart from being the choir’s director, Nyadenga is a musician of great repute with recordings at Eternity Records. He has so far released an album titled Ngakunaye featuring hits like title track Ngakunaye and Kwatabva Kure.

Mr Skyz has so far collaborated with various choirs such as Alheit Mission and the Washington Hills Choir.

He is currently in charge of the Wise Owl Digital Record Label, where he oversees the production and promotion of music.
