IT will be a father and sons affair when King of sungura music Alick Macheso shares the stage on Friday with his two sons for the first time at Wadzanai Stadium in Shamva, Mashonaland Central province.

The Madhawu hitmaker will share the stage with sons, Esau and Tinotenda, at the potentially explosive Baba neVana Sungura concert as he rekindles his old love with fans in his former backyard.

This will be the first time for Macheso’s sons, who are also doing fairly well in the competitive music industry, to share the stage with their father in his former residence.

Macheso grew up in rural Shamva and this zone holds special memories for him.

In an interview with NewsDay Life & Style, Macheso’s publicist Tich Makahamadze said as they approach festive season, they are making sure they are coming up with a number of shows that caters for everyone.

“We have lined up a number of shows around the country as the festive season fast approaches. On December 15, we are in Shamva for a special show whereby Macheso is taking his sons to his home for the first time,” he said.

From Shamva, Macheso “abandons” his sons and heads to Manicaland province where he will join forces with Jah Prayzah for the Celebrating with Legends concert set for Vhengere Stadium in Rusape.

“It has been long before we perform at Vhengere stadium. The fact that we are sharing the stage with one of the best in the country (Jah Prayzah) makes it special,” Makahamadze said.

Part of the performers at the show is Suga Sugar and his Samaita Express.

Makahamadze said Orchestra Mberikwazvo advocates unity in the industry, hence they are open for business with any promoters and artistes across genres which is good for the fans and the sector at large.
