LEONARD Zhakata’s dancer-cum-backing vocalist, Maxwell “Yuki” Kanzara , has released his second album titled Another Step that continues to capture the imaginations of fans synonymous with Zora music through its well-crafted lyrics and instrumentals.
Yuki, a distinguished dancer blessed with superb dancing skills, officially unveiled the five-track album last week which is receiving the complimentary reviews on the airwaves and showbiz.
The album is pregnant with thrilling lyrics punctuated by elaborate and sophisticated guitar work that will find its mark on the dance floor.
The album opens with the song Tisadadirane, which encourages people to co-exist and discourages them from looking down upon each other.
The second song, Yemurai, teaches people to appreciate what one would have done in life. It reminds people not to always be negative about one’s achievements and plans.
Through Rudo Moto, the singer gives advice to couples not to be complacent on issues of matrimony. Instead, he pushes couples to uphold their marriage vows.
“Some couples or people in marriage tend to relax. In the end this will affect their marriages. So, I was encouraging those that are married to maintain their deep affection to each other and stick to their marriage vows,” explained Yuki.
Kuchema KwaMai is a touching song that depicts how mothers toil raising their children, but at the end when the children are grown up, ignore and dump their mothers despite the sacrifices they made to raise them.

It encourages children to respect their mothers, no matter the circumstances.
The closing track Kutonga Wega is about how people in the society cross paths and develop sharp differences.
“I was telling people to solve conflicts and differences within our societies in amicable ways. There is no need for people to take revenge or solve problems in ways that can create further problems and troubles among parties,” Yuki said.
He signalled his arrival on the showbiz scene in 2021 with his debut album, Signal, with the song Nhare catapulting him to stardom.
Yuki joined Zhakata’s All Stars band in 2001 as a dancer-cum-backing vocalist and to date he is still a member of the crew.
“Zhakata has given me the blessings to record my music and l am happy that l am just doing according to my plans and wishes,” he said.
As an up-and-coming musician, Yuki reiterated that he was facing financial challenges that might hinder his mission.
“I am facing financial challenges to fully explore my musical objective. Everything requires financial resources from preparations on recording and the actual recording in the studio. So sometimes we end up dropping other things due to lack of funding,” he said.
The musician is, however, hopeful that he will make a breakthrough in the competitive industry.
“I want to thank all my fans for their support. Honestly, without them, there is no music to talk about. I encourage them to continue supporting me and I welcome their comments and contributions because this is the only way my music can grow,” Yuki said.
