VICKIE Maponga Mlilo’s Another Chance is a talk show, which is broadcast through social media platforms, is transforming the lives of many troubled people.

Mlilo created the platform so that she can help people who are affected by mental health issues in order to regain their hopes in life.

“The platform is preferably called the Safety Net where people can speak freely about their issues and I teach a lot of copying skills, strategies, mechanism to help people cope with Mental Health Issues they face in life”

“People are being helped and equipped with copying skills so that they know how to handle challenges that cause Mental Health Issues in life,” Vickie said.

Currently studying towards an Honours degree in Communication, Vickie organises workshops and meetings on the platform which help empower people’s mindset and she believes change begins in the mind and whatever she teaches on the platform is about mind empowerment.

She revealed that she once had three counts of attempted suicide pushed by life challenges.

“I once had three counts of attempted suicides, I felt that there was no way out and the only solution was to die as nothing was  working in my life. I just felt squeezed everywhere and I suffered serious low esteem, luckily I was treated for clinical depression and here I am today helping others to overcome their situations and have hope for a better life,” she recalled.

Speaking to other members of Another Chance whose lives have been transformed said that they were grateful to be part of the talk show and that their lives have been transformed completely.

Marcelling Dyariwa from Mufakose said the talk show has really helped her as she once had been affected by stress due to family issues.

“I once had stress due to family problems and I shared my story and I got counselling which made me accept my situation and I overcame the problem and now I have a free mind and I am stress free” Dyariwa said.

Speaking to the counsellor and as well as a psychospiritualist Tabeth Munyeza encouraged people to share their live experiences with someone they trust so that they get help early.

“People need to share their lives with someone they trust so that they are helped and to have regular self-introspection in order to remain balanced in life,” Munyeza said.

She hailed the talk show as a life saver which is helping people to pick up themselves from brokenness.

“The platform is a life saver where people are being helped so that they pick themselves up from brokenness and mend them to see how worthy and useful they are in the community,” she said.
