Bhello fast foods opens new eatery

BHELLO CITY Foods has opened a new branch in Eastlea, Harare, as it seeks to spread its wings to different corners of the city.

Located at number 4 Waterhill Road, the eatery opened its door to the public on Friday.

Speaking at the event, Bhello director Isaac Chamangira said their aim was to promote domestic tourism despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The world is faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, but I will not be discouraged to push for the betterment of the company. Our aim is to support domestic tourism and that is what we are doing at the moment,” he said.

Chamangira said given the current environment, they would continue working hard to improve standards.

“The new branch is different from other Bhello branches in terms of menu, the way it serves and the dining set-ups. We have diversified our menu to suit the demands of the market, as we introduced a variety of starches so that clients choose what best suits them, we did not want to limit them to potatoes only,” he said.

In an interview with NewsDay Life & Style on the sidelines of the event, the restaurant’s marketing officer Patience Chuma said the reason behind opening the branch was to change their menu, which previously comprised potatoes only.

“As Bhello family, we believe in customer satisfaction and always listening to their recommendations. After realising the need to serve all types of clients, we decided not to limit our menu to chicken and chips, hence we opened a branch with a different menu from those served at our other outlets,” she said.

“We opted for Eastlea as it is out of the central business district (CBD) and the environment is also appropriate for businesspeople to drive for meetings and dining without the traffic headache unlike in the CBD.”

Chuma said the eatery accepted all forms of payment in both United States dollars and Zimdollars, adding that their operations were adhering to COVID-19 protocols imposed by government to curb the spread of the virus.

“We need to embrace our local currency and be confident in it. We believe it is us Zimbabweans who give value to our local currency,” she said.

“We make sure that our clients are fully vaccinated. We came up with an idea of having many dining enclosures so that people sit as families without interfering with other families thus maintaining social distance.”
