Official says West cynically justifies crimes by Nazis in Ukraine, falsifying facts

Oleg Khramov, deputy secretary of the Russian Security Council, said in an interview to the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper on Monday that Western propaganda cynically justifies crimes by Nazis in Ukraine, manipulating and falsifying facts.

"A well-funded Western propaganda machine of interconnected ideologues, political figures, PR specialists and news media cynically justifies the crimes of neo-Nazis in Ukraine and Donbass in an anti-Russian frenzy. At the same time, it loses sight of the hallmarks of good and bad, reveling in video footage of the atrocities of the Ukrainian regime in the territories of the new regions of Russia that have not yet been liberated, manipulates the facts, and simply falsifies them," he said.

Khramov said the West unceremoniously falsifies historical events, doesn’t hesitate to use the methods they have condemned: They instigate the cancel culture, the war on monuments, accusations that the USSR is as much responsible for unleashing the war as fascist Germany.

"The West is trying with all its might to stop the course of history. Therefore, one of the areas of the destructive influence is the discreditation of the Russian Orthodox Church, both in the society and in the Christian world as a whole. The goal is to destroy the institution of the family, to impose neoliberal pseudo-democratic ‘values’ of same-sex marriage and gender self-determination," the official said.
