Yadah (2) 2
Herentals (1) 1
KUDAKWASHE Mangani and Lennox Mucheto scored on either side of Kelvin Bingala’s strike in the first half to help Yadah beat Herentals FC and finish the Chibuku Super Cup campaign on a high in an entertaining tie at the National Sports Stadium yesterday.
Both teams had already crashed out of the competition, but Herentals needed to build on their emphatic 3-0 win over Harare City last week.
The Miracle Boys were keen to shrug off the poor run of form they have experienced since the resumption of the competition and could not believe their luck when Herentals goalkeeper Prince Tafiremutsa gifted them the lead just before a quarter on an hour.
Tafiremutsa made a poor clearance, which picked out an alert Mangani who riffled home from the edge of the box to give Yadah FC the initiative.
After a sustained wave of attacks, Herentals were eventually rewarded on the half hour mark when Kelvin Bingala capitalised on slack marking from the Yadah defence to poke home from close range.

Yadah produced a brilliant team goal on the stroke of halftime ,which culminated in Mucheto’s cracking shot from just outside the box finding the bottom corner and restoring Yadah’s lead.
The second half was also entertaining, but lacked goals a s both teams took turns to fluff their chances.
However, Genesis Nyangombe’s charges did enough to shut out Herentals to finish their group campaign with a win.
Yadah were sitting second on the standings before the Chibuku Super Cup was interrupted by the Covid-19 third wave, which saw all sport being suspended.
The win against The Students lifted Yadah one place up the ladder into fourth place with 11 points, but that could change if CAPS United beat ZPC Kariba at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
ZPC Kariba have an outside chance of qualifying to the knockout stages, but they need to beat CAPS United and hope that Dynamos win against Harare City at the Baobab Stadium.
Herentals anchor the standings with six points from 10 matches.
Today’s fixture: Dynamos v Harare City (11am, Baobab Stadium), ZPC Kariba v CAPS United (11am, NSS).
