Bulawayo City……(2) 3
Whawha………… (1) 1
BULAWAYO City made it two wins in a row after getting a comfortable victory over visiting Whawha FC in a battle for the basement teams at Barbourfields Stadium yesterday.
Former Highlanders striker Dalubuhle Dlodlo opened the scoring for the home side with just four minutes on the clock after heading home a Genius Mutungamiri cross from the right.
In a frantic start to the match, Whawha almost equalised a minute later after gifted forward Jayden Barake watched in agony as his rising shot from inside the box hit the cross bar.
City capitalised on the reprieve and doubled their lead in the eighth minute as Mutungamiri got his name on the scoresheet with a fine finish.
This time, Dlodlo was the provider after he did well to run behind the Whawha defence and set up Mutungamiri who slotted home with the greatest of calmness.

Rising star Calum Brown English, who has been playing some good football this season despite his team’s struggles, pulled one back for the visitors with a beauty of a free-kick three minutes before the break.
Two minutes into the second half Roy Useni fouled Mutungamiri inside the box and refree Happy Mabhena pointed to the spot.
Midfielder Melikhaya Ncube stepped up and made no mistake from 12 yards. Bulawayo City coach Farai Tawachera was elated with the victory.
“I think we did very well in the first half, we scored two good goals. We had practiced some of these things at training and l am happy with the goals we scored,” said Tawachera.
Whawha FC coach Luke Petros said: “I think we failed to kick-start and they capitalised on that. We tried our best. I think we missed a lot of chances.”
