Veteran goalkeeper Ari el Sibanda began training with Highlanders last week but is yet to ink a new contract after it expired on December 31 last year, a club official has said
The Bulawayo giants are also negotiating with Bulawayo Chiefs former striker Never Rauzhi, whose loan contract also expired at the end of last year, the club's vice-chairperson Fiso Siziba revealed this at Highlanders annual general meeting held at the team's sports club yesterday.
"Ariel Sibanda started training last week, we are negotiating with him and it is looking good....We are also talking to Bulawayo Chiefs regarding Never Rauzhi, who is also training with the club," Siziba said.
Highlanders began its pre-season preparations last week.
Striker Calvin Chigonero's contract was terminated on disciplinary grounds.
The pint-sized striker was on loan to Zifa Central Region side Sheasham but had issues with the club, which returned him to Highlanders.
Highlanders lost Castle Lager Soccer Star of the Year runner-up Lynoth Chikuhwa, Peter Muduhwa and Godfrey Makaruse to Castle Lager Premier Soccer League debutants Scottland FC.
Andrew Tandi and Marvelous Chigumira's contracts also expired.
