TRIATHLON Zimbabwe (TZ) national team coach Pamela Fulton has been appointed by the World Triathlon as one of the head tutors at the Dakhla Development Camp set to take place in Morocco next month.
Last year, Fulton was one of the two coaches to lead another junior development camp in Sharm El Sheik Egypt in June, while she also teamed up with South African Riana Robertson as head coaches for the Africa Junior development camp in Harare back in April.
Fulton, whose profile has been growing on the international scene, was also head coach at the African Triathlon Union (ATU) Under-19 camp in Harare in 2020.
An elite triathlete for Zimbabwe between 1991 and 2004, Fulton is a holder of a World Triathlon Level 2 certificate.
“Please join in congratulating Pamela Fulton (Level 2 World Triathlon Coach) who has been appointed by World Triathlon as one of the Head Coaches at the 2022 Dakhla Development Camp taking place in Morocco from 4th – 10th December 2022,” TZ said in a statement signed by general secretary Carol Pakenham.
“Development camps are held in the southern and northern hemispheres of Africa every year and Junior athletes aged between 16 and 19 from across Africa were invited to apply to attend this particular camp.
“Unfortunately due to school commitments and the costs involved, athletes from Zimbabwe will not be attending the Dakhla camp but will apply for the next camp that will hopefully be held closer to home early in 2023.
“Pam has extensive experience as a Head Coach having facilitated and participated in Junior development camps in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Egypt. Congratulations once again on your appointment Pam, safe travels back to Morocco,” she added.
