Rapist father gets 20-year jail sentence

NPAZ confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, saying the abuse started in 2013 resulting in the victim falling pregnant.

A 42-year-old man from Dombodema, Plumtree, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for repeatedly raping his 13 -year -old biological daughter. 

The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday, saying the abuse started in 2013 resulting in the victim falling pregnant.

The victim  fled the family home in 2016 after giving birth and sought refuge in Botswana.

  “She returned home in December 2024 with her eight-year-old daughter. Fearing that her daughter might end up being abused also, the complainant made a police report, leading to the arrest of the accused person.” said the NPAZ.
