THE Welshman Ncube-led Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) faction has warned self-proclaimed interim secretary-general Sengezo Tshabangu against making appointments in the party, threatening to take action against him.
Tshabangu on Thursday announced members of the party’s local government caucus, which is headed by Harare mayor Jacob Mafume.
But his rivals from the Ncube faction say the appointments were null and void.
The Ncube-led CCC spokesperson Willias Madzimure said there was no local government caucus in the party’s constitution.
“The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has learnt of the comical move to establish a local government caucus of the party,” Madzimure said.
“Accordingly, the party wishes to make the following known to the people of Zimbabwe.
“The comical appointments were not authorised by the president, standing committee, national executive, and national council.”
Madzimure said Tshabangu was imposing unilateral decisions on the party.

“The party’s patience with Sengezo Tshabangu’s antics is wearing thin,” he said.
“A resolute and firm action will soon be taken.”
The High Court earlier this week reserved a judgment in a matter in which the Ncube camp dragged Tshabangu to court challenging his decision to make new appoints among party legislators in Parliament.
