A 27-YEAR-OLD Mt Darwin man was run over by his truck which he had parked downhill without applying a handbrake.
Mashonaland Central police spokesperson, Inspector Milton Mundembe, confirmed the accident.
“I can confirm a fatal accident at Chesa, Mount Darwin where Forbes Majute died after being run over by his Toyota Dyna truck registration number 9827 which he had parked without applying a handbrake,” Mundembe said.
“It is alleged that he parked the truck down slope and slept under the truck while his colleagues offloaded chemicals that he had brought.
“The truck started to move while Majute was underneath and he was run over, thereby killing him on the spot. It only stopped 100 metres away from Majute's lifeless body.”
Police urged motorists to exercise caution when parking their vehicles.
