BY VARAIDZO MUDEWAIRI ZIMBABWE’S moot court team, which recently raised the country’s flag high by winning the 2022 International High Schools Moot Competition, has appealed for assistance to raise US$31 000 for the trip to the European Moot Court competition in Bucharest, Romania, from June 25 to July 5.

Eleven Zimbabwean students last month won the 2022 High Schools Moot International competition held virtually.  Zimbabwe was the only country that represented Africa.

Dominican Convent High School headmistress Sister Kudzai Mutsure said: “The total amount that we are looking for to be able to support our moot court team to go to Romania is around US$31 000. At the moment, we haven’t fundraised anything, but have made appeals to the corporate world. As a school, we are trying to fundraise for the whole team of 11 students.”

She said the 11 would represent Zimbabwe and Africa. Mutsure said the moot team was only left with two weeks to prepare for the competition in Romania.

Moot team captain Ruvimbo Simbi said the team was multi-talented in sciences and law.
