SMALL and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) say the recent ZB SMEs Expo offered them an opportunity to showcase their products to potential clients.

Participants said the expo was well-organised, had insightful workshops and abundant networking opportunities.

Speaking to NewsDay Business, SMEs expressed their gratitude to ZB Financial Holdings Limited for holding the two-day expo this past Friday and Saturday in Harare.

The expo was held under the theme,  Accelerating growth of SMEs through financial partnerships. This is the second expo the financial institution has organised after the Bulawayo event held last month.

“Basically, as SMEs, we are very happy we have met, along with other entities, with opportunities to view other peoples, work and combine to clinch a niche market… It is our first time here,” Alu Men Private Limited sales and marketing officer Takunda Kanchi said.

Alu Men Private Limited is an SME that specialises in shopfitting glasses and aluminium.

“This expo has helped us to meet potential clients and this is a great opportunity we got from ZB as it helps us not only sell to our customers but to have time to explain about our products to our clients,” Kanchi said.

KW Packaging boss Wiriranayi Biza said the expo has shaped his business.

“We thank ZB bank. Since we started this company, they have been supportive by offering services that are satisfactory. This is a good opportunity for us to meet with our clients here to showcase our products,” Biza said.

KW Packaging specialises in plastic manufacturing and hardware.

ZB executive head of marketing Cynthia Muzira said they would continue supporing SMEs in fostering a conducive environment for their development and prosperity as they were helping to drive economic growth and job creation.

“We are pleased with the positive outcomes of the MSMEs Expo and the collaborative efforts with our esteemed partners. Moving forward, we remain dedicated to supporting MSMEs and fostering a conducive environment for their development and prosperity,” Muzira said.

“Through these strategic partnerships, we aimed to offer MSMEs a comprehensive platform that addresses their diverse needs and equips them with the tools and resources necessary to accelerate their growth and success.”

She said ZB was committed to drive economic growth, foster innovation and create employment opportunities within the community.
