LIQUID Zimbabwe is set to host a webinar focusing on data protection and security early this month, as reliance on cloud-based platforms like Microsoft 365 grows.
According to reports, companies have lost around 9% of their turnover in the past twelve months as a direct result of cyber attacks.
In addition to financial losses, other losses associated with successful cyber attacks include network outages, data loss, the shutdown of web applications and the compromise of customer accounts.
Cybersecurity Ventures expects global cyber crime costs to grow by 15% per year over the next five years, reaching US$10,5 trillion annually by 2025, up from US$3 trillion in 2015.
Liquid Zimbabwe said as businesses’ reliance on cloud-based platforms like Microsoft 365 grows, it is now more important than ever to be aware of data security risks and take appropriate measures to protect sensitive information.
“At Liquid Intelligent Technologies, we are committed to equipping businesses with knowledge to make informed decisions regarding data protection and how they can foster a culture of data security,” regional chief business officer for Central Africa at Liquid Intelligent Technologies Loretta Songola told NewsDay Business.
“The webinar is open to all industry verticals, and businesses. Attendees will gain valuable insight into data breaches, cyberattacks and unauthorised access risks.”
The upcoming webinar themed Safeguarding Your Business-Critical Data in Microsoft 365 will take place on March 7 this year.
