Construction expo on the cards

The expo also aims to award the best and innovative companies which have excelled in various category groups.

THE Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association (ZBCA), in conjunction with Passions Events will host the Zimbabwe Builders, Construction and Contractors Expo (Zimbuildex) in March this year.

According to one of the organisers, Daniel T Muzondo, the expo will be held in Harare on March 1 and 2 under the theme Zimbabwe on the move: New horizons leading the frontier for innovation.

“The Zimbabwe Builders, Construction and Contractors Expo is an event that has been designed to bring together Zimbabwe’s finest in the building and construction industry,” Muzondo said.

“With over 1 000 attendees in two days, the 1st ever edition of Zimbuildex will provide an invaluable experience for all the local and international companies that will showcase their latest products and innovations.

“The event organisers believe that the expo will be a significant contributor to the economic growth, recovery and transformation within Zimbabwe’s construction industry.”Muzondo said the event was aimed at recognising the enormous work the construction industry has been doing in support of the National Development Strategy 1, whose vision is a prosperous and empowered upper-middle-income society by 2030.

The expo also aims to award the best and innovative companies which have excelled in various category groups.Going forward, Muzondo said the expo would be an annual event to promote continuous innovation in infrastructural development and structural transformation.

“Another core objective of the expo will be to promote efficiency and improvement in business practice among the construction industry players and their stakeholders,” he said.The two-day event will host a series of activities which will include a golf day and an awards dinner.
