From church leading and writing books, to taking up space in the funeral industry,Edwin Anderson has gone all out to evolve the funeral insurance industry. Aimed at making funeral arrangements smoother and swift, Anderson is on a mission to change lives through his company Tshepang and Ruvimbo Funeral Plan. The Johannesburg-based entrepreneur said he is on a mission to revolutionise the funeral policy space.

"We want to change the narrative that people have when it comes to funerals. Tshepang and Ruvimbo is a funeral policy that helps people on a day-to-day basis and not only when death occurs," he said. Anderson said although most policies are there for clients in times of death,Tshepang and Ruvimbo Funeral Plan helps clients on day-to-day basis. We give our clients monthly data.We believe birthdays are special, so we celebrate your birthday and make sure that if you are our client, we give you double data," he said.

"If you have been a member for more than three years, we give you a special present, which is a personalised soccer jersey of your local team with your name at the back. We also provide legal advice in civil, labour and criminal matters.

You may experience labour issues at work and we will be there to assist you. If you get arrested, we will assist you by applying for your bail," said Anderson.

Tshepang and Ruvimbo Funeral Plan has a generous number of benefits, and Anderson said they have also included the immigration and emigration services.

"Our cover starts from as little as R69 per month, and if you want to get a work permit or a study permit for your children, we will be there to assist you free of charge."

He said they are able to repatriate bodies to their country of origin without any problems.

"Sometimes a body takes days or even months before it is repatriated back to its country of origin so if you are not prepared or you do not have some kind of services, that's why you need funeral insurance companies like us to assist you. Since its inception in November 2023, Tshepang and Ruvimbo Funeral Plan now has 8 offices across the provinces of South Africa. Contrary to the general belief that funeral insurance service providers want people to die, Tshepang and Ruvimbo Funeral Plan offers unlimited medical consultation to its clients. Tshepang and Ruvimbo Funeral Plan is backed by Sanlam, the leading insurance company in South Africa.
