Zimra systems failure halts customs clearance

BEITBRIDGE, Oct. 17 (NewsDay Live) — Customs clearance of imports into Zimbabwe has ground to a halt following a major system failure at the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra), disrupting the processing of inbound cargo at the country’s ports of entry.

The breakdown occurred shortly after a system upgrade intended to align Zimra’s software with that of the Central Vehicle Registry to curb the suspected registration of smuggled vehicles.
