Zimbabwe slashes 2027 economic growth targets

ZIMBABWE has slashed its 2027 economic growth forecast from 5% to 3.5%, citing climate-related risks and global economic uncertainty, Finance minister Mthuli Ncube has announced.

Presenting the 2027 national budget framework at a pre-budget seminar in Bulawayo this Wednesday, Ncube said government would pursue fiscal consolidation, targeting a budget deficit of below 3% of gross domestic product (GDP), while prioritising economic resilience and inclusive growth.
