Zimbabwe debt hurtles towards US$20 billion
NewsDay Staff ·

THE man who heads a team of distinguished business leaders advising President Emmerson Mnangagwa on economic issues yesterday said the country’s debt situation was far worse than portrayed, as he shared glimpses into what the head of State knows.
Busisa Moyo, chairperson of the macroeconomic cluster in Mnangagwa’s Presidential Advisory Council (Pac) said the country’s debt had surged to US$19 billion.
This figure is far higher than the US$17,2 billion released by the Zimbabwe Public Debt Management Office in December.
