Zim-Japan relations on mend
NewsDay Staff ·

Relations between Zimbabwe and Japan are on the mend following yesterday’s visit by a 16-member Japanese delegation which expressed interest in doing business with the country.
The delegation met Foreign Affairs minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi who told the visitors that Japan’s attitude towards Zimbabwe was no different from Western countries who imposed sanctions on the country.
“Japan has never imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe but since Western countries imposed sanctions on Zimbabwe, the behaviour of Japan has not been different from that of Western countries and we have been wondering whether or not Japan had imposed undeclared sanctions on Zimbabwe,” Mumbengegwi said.
