Zim golfer becomes ambassador for Special Olympic World Games

Abu DHABI — Team Zimbabwe golfer Munyaradzi Musariri returned to his home in Norton yesterday as one of only a handful of athletes to have been chosen as ambassadors for next year’s Special Olympic World Games in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The 23-year-old Special Olympics athlete, who has spent the past week playing golf in the UAE, was invited to Abu Dhabi by the local organising committee to help test the venue and facilities that will host the World Games golf tournament in 2019.

Musariri, who is dyslexic and has learning difficulties, was chosen as an ambassador for the Games due to his ongoing commitment to the sport of golf and his unwavering determination in the face of adversity.
