Zim Folk Fusion hosts diverse sounds

The third edition of Zim Folk Fusion live music concerts returns to Theatre In The Park this Friday for a show that will feature a diverse mix of talented artistes such as afro-soul artiste Cingi, mbira sensation Tendai Mavengeni, afro-fusion artiste Taffie Matiure and mbira group True Bhantu Tribe.

According to organisers, the monthly concerts seek to cultivate a vibrant connection with Zimbabwe’s rich musical heritage while also using music to celebrate cultural diversity in the community.

“Our aim is to showcase music that is embedded within Zimbabwean culture and tradition while fostering cultural awareness and appreciation for our heritage as well as bridging the gap between traditional and contemporary music,” event organiser Trymore ‘Guchi’ Jombo told NewsDay Life & Style.
