ZIFA charters plane for Mighty Warriors as Olympic dream takes flight to Malawi
Kudakwashe Gahadzikwa ·

THE Mighty Warriors are set to depart for Malawi this afternoon at 1PM on a chartered flight secured by the Zimbabwe Football Association, as the women’s national team heads into the first leg of their crucial 2028 Olympic Games qualifiers against the Flames on Friday.
The chartered flight, which will also bring the squad home immediately after the first leg to maximise preparation time for the second leg at the National Sports Stadium next Tuesday, represents another significant statement of intent from the Nqobile Magwizi-led ZIFA executive, which has made improving the operational environment for national teams a clear priority since assuming office.
It is the second time in a fortnight that ZIFA has chartered a plane for a national team, having done the same for the Warriors following their match against Sierra Leone in Morocco, allowing head coach Ramon Catala extra preparation time ahead of the DR Congo fixture.
