Zec refuses to budge on report

THE Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) has stuck to its guns by declaring that the recently gazetted unknown new delimitation boundaries would be used in this year’s general elections, despite a flurry of criticism by stakeholders.

The electoral body has, instead, told stakeholders that no amount of whining would change the status quo and they should “familiarise themselves with the new boundaries” ahead of the elections earmarked for August this year.

In a Press statement titled Gazetting of the Delimitation Report, Zec said: “The electoral management body would like to advise stakeholders to familiarise themselves with the new boundaries since the upcoming harmonised elections will be conducted under these delimitated wards and constituencies.”
