ZCTU disowns affiliates
NewsDay Staff ·

The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has attacked its former president Lovemore Matombo and Progressive Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe secretary-general Raymond Majongwe for continuing to use the labour body’s name to promote their activities.
ZCTU secretary-general Japhet Moyo in a statement yesterday said the two were using the name “Concerned Affiliates of ZCTU” to gain relevance after they were kicked out of the body last year.
He said the labour body cut ties with the so-called affiliates on November 15 last year, long before a Supreme Court ruling barring Matombo’s group from using the name ZCTU.
