Zanu PF distances self from blitz on vendors

The ruling Zanu PF party has disanced itself from the ongoing blitz on vendors and demolition of illegal structures in Harare and other urban centres.

Party spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa told journalists  this Thursday that enforcement of city by-laws is the responsibility of opposition-led urban councils, and not the ruling party.

Mutsvangwa said the operation was a regulatory matter aimed at upholding the rule of law and making Harare attractive to investment, and had no link to the recently passed Constitutional Amendment Act 3 (CAA3).
