Nqobani Ndlovu ·

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and the ministry of Mines and Mining Development have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen corruption prevention, information sharing and accountability in the administration of the mining sector.
The agreement provides for integrity pledges by ministry officials, mandatory systems reviews and risk audits, joint training programmes and a steering committee to oversee implementation.
ZACC chairperson, Michael Reza said the partnership followed a request by Mines and Mining Development permanent secretary Thomas Utete Wushe, describing it as a significant step towards protecting a sector critical to Zimbabwe’s economy.
