Will more entertainment spots be forced to turn down the volume?

THE recent High Court ruling ordering a popular entertainment spot in Victoria Falls to reduce its music volume has raised questions about whether other bars, nightclubs and entertainment joints could face similar restrictions over noise pollution.

The ruling, which affects Tshisa Nyama, located along Livingstone Way in Victoria Falls, followed a successful court application by local hospitality operator Mosskatte Investments (Pvt) Ltd, which complained about noise from the entertainment facility.

Bulawayo High Court judge Justice Nokuthula Moyo last week ordered Tshisa Nyama to stop playing loud music after 8pm on weekdays and 9pm on weekends.
