UZ student jailed 4 years for theft

A THIRD-YEAR student at the University of Zimbabwe convicted of stealing laptops at the institution’s offices and hostels will spend four years behind bars.

Tadiwa Delroy Chimutanda (24) pleaded guilty to 14 counts of unlawful entry to premises before stealing laptops and computers.

Harare magistare Ethel Chichera sentenced Chimutamba to eight years imprisonment but suspended one year on condition of good behaviour.
