USA extradition suspect denied bail despite Interpol consent

A Zimbabwean national, who is awaiting extradition to the United States of America for trial over alleged tax fraud, has accused the National Prosecuting Authority of frustrating his bail bid although the International Police (Interpol) has consented to his application.

Simba Nyika was arrested in Harare last week and has since been in detention awaiting  extradition.

Nyika is alleged to have committed the offence involving tax returns between February 2012 and December 2013.
