UNWTO countdown begins

The 365 days countdown to the hosting of the United World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) General Assembly — scheduled for Victoria Falls and Livingstone, Zambia, next year — will officially be launched today in Zimbabwe’s premier resort town amid pomp and fanfare.

UNWTO local organising committee chairperson and Victoria Falls mayor Nkosilathi Jiyane said preparations were at an advanced stage for tonight’s launch, adding several artistes, including Sulumani Chimbetu, had been lined up to light up the event. A Zambian delegation is also expected in the country to witness the launch.
