Unesco, US partners govt in teacher training programme

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco), in collaboration with the United States, will partner the government in training teachers in science subjects.

Permanent delegate and US ambassador to Unesco, Crystal Nix-Hines, who met Higher and Tertiary Education minister Jonathan Moyo yesterday, said her government, together with Unesco, would soon launch the programme dubbed Teacher in Zimbabwe.

“It’s a global partnership to encourage and inspire and train teachers to develop a master class of teachers to educate young girls from 13 to 16 years in Steam careers, which is science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics,” she said.
