UN Women launches “Stronger Together” campaign to prevent gender-based violence, combat stigma
Staff Reporter ·

UN Women Zimbabwe has embarked on a nationwide campaign aimed at preventing gender-based violence (GBV), countering stigma and discrimination, and strengthening social cohesion between women returnees and host communities across all provinces.
The campaign, running from October 20 to December 10,2026, builds on UN Women’s reintegration and social cohesion programme supporting women and girls returning from South Africa. Through community radio, roadshows, digital media, storytelling and community dialogue, the initiative seeks to address the multiple challenges faced by returnees, including trauma, economic insecurity, social exclusion and heightened risks of gender-based violence.
