Tungwarara warned over utterances

TENSIONS are flaring in Zanu PF following an explosive rally held in Nyanga, Manicaland province on Saturday, with the party youth league’s provincial deputy political commissar Taurai Kandishaya issuing a pointed warning to President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s adviser Paul Tungwarara, accusing him of straying from his mandate and sowing confusion within party structures.

At the rally Tungwarara attacked a businessman he did not mention by name, but is believed to be Kudakwashe Tagwirei for allegedly pushing for the removal of Vice-Presidents Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi as well as unnamed ministers and senior civil servants.

Kandishaya, who described himself as a grassroots commissar deeply embedded in party mobilisation, said Tungwarara’s recent political conduct was inconsistent with his advisory role and risked disrupting Zanu PF’s recruitment and consolidation drive.
