Tshabangu’s double standards exposed
NewsDay Staff ·

SELF-PROCLAIMED Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim secretary-general Sengezo Tshabangu has been accused of double standards after imposing candidates for the December 9 by-elections, an accusation he used to recall 15 elected opposition legislators and 17 councillors.
Tshabangu caused the by-elections by alleging that the legislators he recalled were “outsiders” imposed on the people, but on Tuesday this week, he fielded candidates whom he randomly picked without holding internal primary elections.
The recalled MPs, who included proportional representation legislators, were drawn mainly from Matabeleland South, Matabeleland North and Bulawayo provinces.
