Thieving model convicted, sentenced

Harare magistrate Batanai Madzingira yesterday slapped thieving model Mercy Kamanura (24) with a wholly suspended two-month jail term after she was convicted of stealing a jumpsuit from Edgars Stores.

Madzingira suspended the sentence on condition that she pays a fine of $80 and is not convicted of a crime involving theft in the next five years.

Kamanura, who is Black Opal Face of Zimbabwe second princess, had been on trial for stealing a jumpsuit worth $40.
