The meaning of Independence

I vividly remember standing at New Yorks Times Square in 2007 suitably awed by what I was seeing around me and wondering how they did it all.

It is a question that I am still getting answers two and since then, for my personal interest, I have bought and read quite few books on American history. My favourite by a long shot is Founding Brothers by Joseph J Ellis.
