Tangwena, Msipa liberation heroes

THE Zanu PF politburo yesterday declined to confer national heroine status to Ambuya Matadzisei Tangwena, the widow of the late national hero Chief Rekayi Tangwena, and former Midlands governor Cephas Msipa’s wife, Charlotte.

Instead, the party declared the two provincial liberation heroines.
Ambuya Tangwena, who was 82, succumbed to respiratory complications at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare last Thursday while Ambuya Msipa (76) died of diabetes on Saturday evening in Gweru.
