State closes Gukurahundi trial
NewsDay Staff ·

HWANGE — The State is expected to close its case today in the trial of MDC’s National Healing, Reconciliation and Integration minister Moses Mzila-Ndlovu who is being charged over alleged offensive Gukurahundi remarks made at a public meeting in Lupane last year.
Three witnesses testified before the matter was adjourned last month, with Mzila-Ndlovu accusing Zanu PF of raising the trumped-up charges to persecute him politically.
He denied the allegations and claimed Zanu PF wanted him punished for being outspoken on the 1983-1987 Gukurahundi atrocities which claimed about 20 000 villagers in Matabeleland and Midlands.
