SRC suspends Zim Rugby Union board

THE Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) has effectively dissolved the leadership of the Zimbabwe Rugby Union (ZRU), suspending the remaining members of its National Executive Board and National Executive Committee from all forms of rugby administration and activities in the country.

In a Press statement issued yesterday, the SRC stated the decision was made in terms of section 30(1)(b) and (c)(i) as read with section 19(a), (b) and (c), and paragraph 23 of the second schedule of the Sports and Recreation Commission Act [Chapter 25:15].

The SRC emphasised that the suspension, which follows a resolution passed by its Board of Commissioners on September 9, 2025, shall remain effective until the next ZRU elections.
