SL tightens grip on rain hit day

Stumps: Sri Lanka 247 for 6 (Gunaratne 16*, Kusal Perera 1*) and 537 lead Zimbabwe 373 (Cremer 102*, Moor 79, Rangana Herath 3-97) by 411 runs

RAIN might have ruined Sri Lanka’s plans, but they still tightened their grip on the first cricket Test against Zimbabwe after taking a 411-run lead ahead of the final day today at Harare Sports Club.

The tourists might have planned on more time in the middle before inserting Zimbabwe later in the final session of the day before the light showers arrived, but they will still be pleased to send in their hosts this morning as they were almost out of sight at close yesterday.
