Redcliff now a ghost town

REDCLIFF — Following the official launch of New Zim Minerals and New Zim Steel on August 3 2011, this Midlands town has been waiting in vain for a change in fortunes.

But close to a year after the official handover ceremony by President Robert Mugabe, nothing has been forthcoming.

Town Clerk Elizabeth Gwatipedza told NewsDay that her council was pinning its hopes on the revival of Ziscosteel, the company that gave birth to two companies following its takeover by Indian Steel giant Essar.
