Police under fire over roadshow

Activists campaigning for the licensing of community radios have condemned Bulawayo police for blocking an awareness roadshow by Radio Dialogue at the just ended Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).

Nothando Mpofu, Radio Dialogue advocacy officer, yesterday said they had organised the show on Saturday together with churches and civic society to promote peace in the city.

But police in riot gear stopped them outside the ZITF grounds.
