Parents protest chief’s involvement in school fees collection

Parents and guardians at Shutu Primary School in Mazowe, Mashonaland Central province  have petitioned the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education over the chief’s involvement in the collection of outstanding fees.

In a petition dated September 20, 2026 and addressed to the permanent secretary, provincial education director and the district schools inspector, the parents accuse the  SDC of leaving them at the mercy of the chief’s ‘rowdy’ messenger of court.

The petition was filed by Clarkson Gutsa on behalf of concerned parents and copied to ZIMSEC, the local councillor, the SDC chairman and the school head.
