Organised gangs hound Winky D

CIVIC society organisations, opposition politicians and analysts have condemned harassment of dancehall artiste Winky D after police reportedly disrupted his music show in Chitungwiza on Saturday.

This was Winky D’s first public performance after the launch of his new album, Eureka Eureka on New Year’s eve at the Harare International Conference Centre.

In a statement yesterday, Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition (CiZC) said the singer had become a target of sponsored violence by alleged Zanu PF activists because his music speaks to poverty, corruption and unemployment in Zimbabwe.
